The Beekeeper of Aleppo is based on the truth and is about Syrian refugees. It’s a sad but interesting tale. A bit too realistic for me I normally like to escape into a book so choose fantasy over facts normally. I won’t spoil the Thursday Murder club for you. If you intend to read it it’s best fresh and unspoilt by others opinions. That’s why I rarely read the blurb on the back of a book.
I’ve just finished reading the Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman that my daughter bought me for Christmas. I loved it, lots of plot twists.
Currently I’m reading A Tail of Two Cities by Charles Dickens in an attempt to read all the ‘classics ‘ and The Beekeeper of Aleppo by Christy Lefteri. That I picked up shopping in Tesco! It’s well written but not my normal style so I’m going slower than usual which could be a good thing. If hooked I cannot put a book down and will just read till it’s finished. A book in a day is not unusual for me, especially if I’m on holiday.
